VMware has released version 12.5.6 of Workstation Player. Player is free software to create and run virtual machines. However, a fee is charged for commercial use. Simply put, it is a simplified implementation of other VMware products, such as Workstation Pro, Server, and ESX Server. Microsoft Virtual PC virtual machines and Symantec LiveState Recovery disks are also supported. Known Issues

  • After upgrading VMware Tools to version 10.1.5 or 10.1.6 and rebooting Windows, Explorer shows the VMware Shared Folder drive as disconnected with a red “X”.
    Workaround:Refresh the connection by clicking the drive and accessing it as normal.
