Microsoft released a new version of the Sysinternals Suite on Wednesday. This package is a collection of useful tools for managing systems and obtaining comprehensive information about the computer. In this way, all kinds of problems can be detected and solved. The individual tools are being developed by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell, initially for Sysinternals and now for Microsoft. Some examples are Process Explorer, Bginfo, contig and disk mon. In total it concerns a collection of 66 different tools. Since the previous entry in the Meuktracker, the following components in the Suite have been updated:

ProcDump v2.01:
ProcDump now generates a dump file name based on the date and time if no file name is specified, adds support for per-process performance counters, and reports in the dump comment for performance counter triggers the biggest CPU consuming thread.

Autoruns v10.03:
This update adds a number of additional shell extension locations and reports Safe Mode’s alternateshell value.

Process Monitor v1.93:
This fixes a bug related to volume object ID formatting and enables the before/after exclude quick filter on entries that don’t have a path.

WinObj v2.21:
This release fixes a bug related to minimizing and restoring the WinObj window.
