Software Update: SubVersion 1.0

nightlight writes: “Subversion is the improved version of CVS, the open source program that the OS community works with. After more than a year of development, version 1.0 was released yesterday. The OS community has been eagerly waiting for this. All SourceForge for example, will most likely transition from CVS to SubVersion.” In SubVersion, CVS’s major flaws, including file renaming, file moving, and binary file management, have been fixed. A list of the packages for different operating systems is here to find. The changes in the most recent versions are unfortunately not included in the changelog

For those less familiar with CVS or SubVersion; in short, they both manage source code, which is developed in a team. In addition, the history of the files (the changes that have been made to them) is kept. The diagram below may provide clarification:
