Software Update: SRWare Iron 37.0.2000.0

Version 37.0.2000.0 of SRWare Iron has been released. This browser is based on the source code of Google Chrome, but has all kinds of privacy improvements. For example, Google Chrome creates a unique number during installation with which the browser can be identified and information is sent to Google for Google Suggest. Iron doesn’t do this. Furthermore, Iron has an ad-blocker by default, which must be added to Chrome as an add-on, and the youser agent easier to adjust. The changelog for this release looks like this:

New Iron Version: 37.0.2000.0 Stable for Windows

We released the new Iron 37 today, which contains all features and updates known from Chromium 37. The current version is 37.0.2000.0.

Main improvements:

  • 64-Bit Version
  • PDF Viewer (print preview now works correctly)
  • DirectWrite API
  • Bug/Security fixes

Known Issues:

  • Sync does not work yet but a Fix/workaround is in progress
  • common Chromium 37 problem: who has too much bookmarks in the “main bar” should move them in a folder. Otherwise tab switching can be slow. More info.
