Software update: SpotGrit 1.1.1 build 13309

Version 1.1 of SpotGrit has been released. After the Usenet community FTD was forced to close its doors earlier this year, several initiatives have arisen to make downloading files via Usenet easier. One of these was Spotnet, which works through ‘spots’, suggestions made by users. However, that program was slow, prone to fraud and unclear. SpotGrit should put an end to these objections. It provides an all-in-one solution for finding, downloading (via SABnzbd), and extracting files from Usenet. The changelog for version 1.1 shows improved stability and speed, as well as several bug fixes.

SpotGrit 1.1 brings the following changes:

• Various speed improvements
• Improved stability
• Small new functionalities, such as:
  • Counters that show how many new spots there are per category/filter
  • Start downloading from a right-click in the spot overview
  • Support for news servers that do not require a username/password
