Software update: Skype for Symbian 1.0.4 /1.0.3

The developers of Skype are working hard with their well-known Skype application on mobile platforms. For example, Skype can now be used on the iPhone and even the Sony PSP is supported. Since the beginning of this month, there is finally a Skype flavor that works on Symbian S60 v3 and v5 devices. Currently, only Nokia devices are officially supported, but people are busy behind the scenes to market mobiles from other manufacturers list to add. The version number of this Skype for Symbian release is fixed at 1.0.3 for Symbian S60 v3 and 1.0.4 for Symbian S60 v5. The corresponding announcement looks like this:

I’m glad to announce Skype 1.0 for Symbian. We have had many users on the beta release of it giving us good feedback on the product and now we are ready to give it to everyone. Also some of you have been asking for a version of Skype for Symbian for touch screen handsets (Symbian S60 v5), particularly the Nokia 5800. We are very happy to announce that Skype for Symbian now supports touch screen handsets as well, head over to skype.com/m on your handset to download.
