Software Update: SIW 1.56 build 599

The Canadian Gabriel Topala has updated SIW to version 1.56 build 599. SIW is an abbreviation for System Information for Windows and that is exactly what the program does; provide detailed information about a Windows PC. This does not only affect the hardware present in the PC, but also the software, the running processes and services, and the network. The program fits easily on an old-fashioned floppy disk and does not need to be installed to do its job. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

Changes in version 1.56:

• Check if the program is running under Win64. Thanks to Guntram Reuther.
• Check if the user is a member of Local Administrators group. Thanks to João Alves.
• Fixed “Can´t open WinIO.sys Driver” error message (Win64 or Terminal Services).
• Fixed few “Error : C0000005 (Exception ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address 0xxxxxxxxx)” errors.
• Added international language support.
