Software update: Rufus 1.4.10

Spread the love

Version 1.4.10 of Rufus has been released. Rufus is a Windows program that can be used to create self-starting USB sticks. Useful, for example, to install an operating system, which is faster from a USB stick than from a CD or DVD, to update the bios or to access a system that no longer wants to start. Incidentally, there are a large number of tools with which this can be done, but Rufus claims to be one of the fastest of its kind. This release fixes a problem with displaying connected USB sticks under Windows XP and Vista.

Changes in version 1.4.10:

  • Fix a crash when scanning disk images with no USB drive plugged
  • Fix default detection of some OCZ flash drives
  • Improve Syslinux 6.x support (for Tails 1.x and other ISOs)
  • Improve disk image handling (refresh partitions, remount drive, etc.)
  • Other fixes and improvements
