Software Update: PowerArchiver 2012 13.00 Beta 3

ConeXware has released the third beta release of PowerArchiver 2012. This archiver can handle common archive types, such as zip, 7z, cab, lha tar, gzip, bzip2, rar, arj, arc and ace. In addition, it can read CD and DVD images such as iso, bin, img and nrg. PowerArchiver is available in a standard, a professional and a toolbox edition, with prices ranging from 20 to 45 euros.

The standard version gives you a comprehensive archiving program. Professional adds, among other things, a backup function, an Outlook plug-in and the ability to create ISO files. Finally, the Toolbox edition comes with a one-year license for BitDefender Internet Security, can burn optical discs, can create virtual disk drives, and is an sftp client. New in version 2012 is, among other things, the option to indicate file format, size or compression ratio with colors. Furthermore, improvements have been made in the use of passwords and the temp folder can be safely emptied. Since beta 1, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Changes from Beta 2 to Beta 3:

• Translation Improvements – Brazilian, Spanish and other translations have been updated.
• Improved profiles – Improved support for creating compression profiles.
• Improved ISO support – Added support for some older types of ISO files.
• Improved RAR support – Improved RAR support – various things such as add, remove, extract are improved.
• Improved compatibility with TC 8.0 – Improved shell extensions compatibility with Total Commander 8.0 (and some other programs).
• Various fixes and improvements (over 20)! – Based on your feedback, PA Team worked hard to push Beta 3 out of the door.

Changes from Beta 1 to Beta 2:

• Various fixes and improvements (over 25)! – Based on your feedback, PA Team worked hard to push Beta 2 out of the door.
