Version 2.14.6 of Pidgin has been released. This multi-protocol instant messaging program can handle the networks of AIM, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, irc, MSN, MySpaceIM, QQ, Silc, Simple, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo and Zephyr. During installation, you can choose from as many as seventy different languages ​​and add spell check. Downloads are available for Windows, Linux, and BDS. The macOS port is released under the name Adium. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

General:

  • Update references to point to our current websites. (RR 766)
  • Add a donate link to the help menu. (RR 749)

finch:

  • Check pkg-config for ncurses before looking for it manually. (RR 729)

Pidgin:

  • Replace newlines in topics with spaces. (PIDGIN-16704) (RR 730)

libpurple:

  • Added support for the no_proxy environment variable. (PIDGIN-17518) (RR#667)
  • Added infrastructure for fuzzing as well as some initial fuzzers. (RR #760)
  • Fix an out of bounds write in purple_markup_linkify. (RR 781)

XMPP:

  • Enable session management after binding a resource. (PIDGIN-17520) (RR 759)

Zephyr:

  • Fix a clang logical-not-parentheses warning. (PIDGIN-17528) (RR 731)
