Software update: phpBB 3.1.0 rc 2

The second release candidate of phpBB version 3.1.0 has been released. With this program it is possible to create a web forum. PhpBB is made available under the gpl license and uses PHP and a database program to store messages. Besides MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Firebird and SQLite are also supported as database software. In addition to the complete installation, there are also various upgrade packages to download. Detailed information about the changes in version 3.1.0 is on the phpBB blog to find. New Features

  • Style changes – Prosilver received a little facelift. The header has been updated to a cleaner look. Additionally a maximum width has been added.

Notable Changes

  • require:phpbb/phpbb in Ext composer.json – Remove require: phpbb/phpbb from Extensions composer.json files: more info.
  • Change in calls to dbal properties – New methods need to be used for acquiring the dbal properites: more info.
  • Symphony components updated – The Symphony suite has been updated from 2.3.12 to 2.3.16

Notable Bug Fixes

  • Web root path for ajax calls – The web root path for ajax calls is wrong. It can now be fixed by appending the referer as a parameter to the ajax call url
