Software Update: PeaZip 5.0.1

The first update for version 5.0 of PeaZip has been released. This archiving program is made available under an open source license and downloads are available for Windows and Linux. The program aims to distinguish itself from the competition by specializing in safety. Encrypting data is therefore one of the main functions of the proprietary system pea format. PeaZip can create 7z, bz2, gz, paq/lpaq, pea, quad, tar, upx and zip files, and extract various file formats including ace, arj, cab, deb, iso, lha , rar and rpm. Version 5.0 includes changes to the user interface so that the most important functions and information are more visible. The following improvements have also been made in this update:

  • Compiled with Lazarus 1.0.10
  • Windows installer compiled with InnoSetup 5.5.3

File manager

  • Added file name information in non readable archive dialog
  • Fixed special folders (desktop, root etc) are now translated in localization language
  • Fixed some untranslated strings
  • Fixed disabling unused keyboard shortcut in each context
  • Fixed don’t show file browser’s hint if application is not in foreground
  • (Windows installer, Vista and more recent) added option to reset current configuration during installation process
  • Various minor fixes and improvements
