Software Update: PassMark BurnInTest 6.0 build 1014

PassMark Software released version 6.0 build 1014 of BurnInTest on Thursday. This program puts the various parts of the computer to work in order to test the reliability and stability of the system. The software is available in a standard version and a professional edition, the latter of which is available in both a 32-bit and a 64-bit version. The professional edition supports testing of more hardware, including tape drives and the parallel, serial and USB ports. In addition, the memory tests in the Pro version are more extensive. Changes in version 6.0 build 1014:

• CPU system information improvements:
  • Additional Intel Core i5 CPU information reported & number of caches correction.
  • CPU Base Clock reported for stock values ​​and over/under clocking (when different) for some CPUs.
  • CPU Turbo and non-Turbo CPU speeds and Multipliers reported for Intel Core (Nehalem) architectures.
• Minor improvements to the BurnInTest CPU temperature reporting (added Intel Core i5 and improvement to average CPU value).
