Software update: Opera 5.11

boo was wise to inform us that a new version of the free browser Opera has been released.

As usual, the browser is again available in two flavors: a version without Java support can be found here (2.24MB), and the version with Java can be downloaded here (9.96MB). Below you can see if it’s worth downloading:

  • Fixed crashing on startup when having certain plugins, ie. GetRight and SVGView (which is installed with Adobe Acrobat 5)
  • Languages

  • Fixed language preferences dialog, which would not save changes done to accept language
  • User Interface

  • Fix to horizontal scrolling while in fullscreen mode
  • Security

  • SSL fix where certain version 2 servers would choke on version 3 handshaking
  • Version number 5.11
