Version 3.3.0 of NZBVortex has been released. This program is one of the most widely used usenet clients for OS X. It has everything you want from a modern usenet client to expect, including support for various servers, connections and threads, notifications via Growl, the ability to use RSS feeds and an nzb-watch folder, verification and repair of par files, and so on. NZBVortex is released as shareware. In version 3.2.0, among other things, the processor load when using ssl has been drastically reduced and improvements have been made with regard to use under OS X 10.11. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changes in version 3.3.0

  • Use HTTPS for all communication and links to nzbvortex.com – including Sparkle updates
  • Update sparkle to 1.13.1 with security fix
  • Prefer IPv4 addresses above IPv6 if both are available – prevents bad IPv6 configurations
  • NZBGeek obscured filenames – Rename as NZB file name instead
  • Modernize all views and use latest layout system
  • Modernize all code and cleanup – all code since 2009 inspected and updated
  • Download folder incorrect when not using move to completed
  • Favor filename instead of nzb title during one file result rename
  • RSS feeds update, but do not automatically initiate download
  • When downloading single file NZB, file is renamed to match the NZB file
