Software update: NewsLeecher 2.0 RC 2

The ninth beta release of version 2.0 of the program of the same name has been made available on the NewsLeecher website, which can read messages and download files from Usenet. This version has also been given the status release candidate 2, so the final of 2.0 should not be long in coming. Users of this program will be happy to know that the cause of the Super Search function crashing regularly has been found. This does not appear to be a problem of the program, but of a buggy firewall. The problems will soon be a thing of the past once it is replaced. Anyway, the changelog for this release of NewsLeecher looks like this:

Changes in 2.0 RC2:

• A much requested ‘Minimize to System Tray’ icon has been re-added to the main toolbar. If you don’t want the icon on the toolbar, you can remove it from the main toolbar configuration.
• Added a button to the statusbar that can be used to make more room in the NewsLeecher window by hiding the ‘Server Connections Window’ and by hiding the toolbar icons.
• Lots of internal improvements.
• Communication improvements between NewsLeecher and SuperSearch.
