Software Update: Nessus 2.0.11

Spread the love

The Nessus Project is developing further Nessus, a security scanner that can scan a network for known exploits and open services. Please note that the program may only be used if you have permission to check the security of the network. The list with exploits and open services is very extensive and can be expanded with your own written scripts. The package runs on most Posix systems including MacOS X, FreeBSD, Linux, and Solaris, among others. Recently, version 2.0.11 has been released in the stable branch with the following changelog:

What is new in Nessus 2.0.11, compared to 2.0.10:

  • Fixed Solaris portability issue introduced in 2.0.11
  • Fixed a bug in the HTML with graphs output which would make it loop indefinitely
  • Proper GTK+2.x support (GTK+ 1.2 is still supported)
  • Fixed nessus update plugins for FreeBSD
