Software Update: Mozilla Thunderbird 68.1.1

Spread the love

The Mozilla Foundation has released version 68.1.1 of Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source email and newsgroup client, with features such as support for several mail and news accounts, a spam filter, spell checker, and a customizable look and feel.

In version 68 we see a 64bit version for Windows for the first time. This cannot be installed over the 32-bit version, the program will have to be reconfigured. However, a migration will be possible in a next update. Furthermore, the program can be managed via policies within corporate environments, filters can now be started periodically and multiple folders can be marked as ‘read’ at the same time. The following improvements have also been made in this release:

Fixed:

  • Issues with attachments in IMAP messages
  • Gmail accounts ignored a non-standard trash folder selection. Note: If non-standard trash folder was selected previously in the account settings, this setting will now take effect which may be unexpected.
  • Entering/pasting lists of recipients into the addressing widget or mailing list not working reliably, especially when lists contained multiple commas or semicolons
  • Edit mailing list not working
  • Various theme fixes, especially dark theme improvements for Calendar
  • Contrast between tag label and background not optimal
  • Account Central pane always loaded at start-up
  • “Config Editor” button not removed if blocked by policy
  • Calendar: Free/busy information in attendees dialog not scrolled correctly. Note: Scroll arrows still not keeping correctly.
  • Various security fixes

Known Issues
