Software Update: Mozilla Thunderbird 52.4.0

The Mozilla Foundation has released version 52.4.0 of Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source email and newsgroup client, with features such as support for several mail and news accounts, a spam filter, spell checker, and a customizable look and feel. In Thunderbird, new functionality is rarely added. New in version 52 is, among other things, that images are now added as data URIs in messages. In addition, there is now a drop-down menu that allows you to quickly customize the way folders are displayed. In addition, in Lightning it is now possible to edit events in tabs. The following issues have also been fixed in this update.

New

• In Thunderbird 52 a new behavior was introduced for replies to mailing list posts: “When replying to a mailing list, reply will be sent to address in From header ignoring Reply-to header”. A new preference mail.override_list_reply_to allows to restore the previous behavior.

Fixed

• Under certain circumstances (image attachment and non-image attachment), attached images were shown truncated in messages stored in IMAP folders not synchronized for offline use.
• IMAP UIDs > 0x7FFFFFFF not handled properly
• Various security fixes
