Software Update: Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.22

The Mozilla Foundation released version 2.0.0.22 of Thunderbird Monday. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source and cross platform mail and newsgroup client with features such as support for multiple mail and news accounts, a junk mail filter, a spell checker and a customizable look and feel. Of course, the functionality can be further expanded with the help of so-called extensions. Version 2.0.0.22 fixes the following seven security vulnerabilities:

  • MFSA 2009-27 SSL tampering over non-200 responses to proxy CONNECT requests
  • MFSA 2009-24 Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.9.0.11)
  • MFSA 2009-17 Same-origin violations when Adobe Flash loaded via view-source: scheme
  • MFSA 2009-14 Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.9.0.9)
