Mozilla Thunderdbird is the standalone version of the mail and news software included with Mozilla SeaMonkey. The mail program is an open source and cross platform mail and newsgroup client with features such as a junk mail filter, spell check and the possibility to further extend the functionality via extensions. On Mozilla’s FTP server, 4AMD just found the latest version of Thunderbird, which is 1.5.0.2. This version can be downloaded from here for Linux, Mac OS X and WIndows, among others. According to the release notes Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 has a number of stability and security fixes, but the log does not provide a detailed list. However, it is referred to The Rumbling Edge, where a detailed overview is given of the changes implemented. Like the Mozilla Suite 1.7.13 released yesterday, there is no Universal Binary available for the new Thunderbird Mac OS X version.
