Download Mozilla Lightning 1.0 Beta 2
Last Thursday, the second beta release of version 1.0 of the Mozilla calendar application came out. The software is available as a standalone program under the name Sunbird and as an extension for the mail and newsgroup client Mozilla Thunderbird under the name Lightning. Beta 2 is suitable for version 3.1 of Thunderbird, where Thunderbird 3.0 users can only work with beta 1 due to the gecko engine used. SeaMonkey users should also stick with beta 1, as support for that program is completely absent in this release. Below is an overview of the main improvements in beta 2:
The following features have been added to Lightning 1.0 beta2:
- You can now print out your tasks
- Improved calendar view navigation, performance improved
- Better error handling when adding or subscribing to calendars
- Allow setting different start and end timezones for events and tasks
- CalDAV support and interoperability with various CalDAV servers have been improved
- Performance improvement and reduced network load when accessing certain CalDAV servers (webdav-sync specification)
