Software Update: Mozilla Firefox 27.0 Beta

As we are used to from Mozilla, the first beta release of the next version has already appeared shortly after the release of a stable version of the Firefox web browser. In version 27, which should be available on February 4th, the social API will now work with several networks at the same time, support for tls 1.2 and version 3.1 of the spdyprotocol has been added and the issue with Azure/Skia content rendering not working on Linux has been fixed. Below is an incomplete overview of the improvements that we can expect in version 27.

• You can now run more than one service at a time with Firefox SocialAPI, allowing you to receive notifications, chat and more from multiple integrated services
• Implemented support for TLS 1.2 (RFC 5246)

• Added support for SPDY 3.1 protocol

• Ability to reset style sheets using ‘all:unset’
• You can now choose to deobfuscate javascript in the debugger (see 762761)
• Added support for scrolled fieldsets (see 261037)
• Implemented allow-popups directive for iframe sandbox, enabling increased security (see 766282)
• CSS cursor keywords -moz-grab and -moz-grabbing have been unprefixed (see 880672)
• Added support for ES6 generators in SpiderMonkey (see blog post)
• Implemented support for mathematical function Math.hypot() in ES6 (see 896264)

Fixed

• Get Azure/Skia content rendering working on Linux (see 762761)

Known Issues

• Moving Firefox to background while playing a flash video in full screen mode and bring it back to view will freeze the app (see 809055)
• If you try to start Firefox using a locked profile, it will crash (see 573369)
