Software Update: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.3

Spread the love

Mozilla has updated its Firefox web browser to version 1.0.3. The program, which is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, is currently only available in English. This new version has not undergone major changes. Only a few bugs have been fixed and the update process has also been improved. Mozilla Firefox is based on the Gecko engine and comes standard with, among other things, a popup blocker and a mini download manager. Furthermore, it is possible to surf via tabs and username-password combos can be filled in automatically. The changelog for this release looks like this:

  • Javascript “lambda” replace exposes memory contents
  • javascript: PLUGINSPAGE code execution
  • Showing blocked javascript: popup uses wrong privilege context
  • Cross-site scripting through global scope pollution
  • Code execution through javascript: favicons
  • Search plugin cross site scripting
  • Arbitrary code execution from Firefox sidebar panel II
  • Missing Install object instance checks
  • Privilege escalation via DOM property overrides
