Software Update: Macrium Reflect 5.3.7149

Paramount Software has released a new version of Macrium Reflect. This program can create a disk image of a partition or hard disk. Macrium Reflect is free for private use, but there are also paid performances, That extras including being able to perform a file backup or an incremental backup, encryption, and restore a backup to hardware other than that on which it was created. The standard version costs 45 euros, the pro version 60 euros and the server edition goes home for 193 euros. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Bug Fixes:

• The error “Bad file descriptor” could cause a clone to fail. This has been resolved.
• Free and Standard editions. The error message “Dynamic Disks are not supported” could be incorrectly displayed when editing an XML file. This has been resolved.
• If the source driver files are marked as ‘Read Only’ this could cause a copy failure when building the Windows PE rescue media. This has been resolved.
• Improved support for Linux systems using Grub 2
