Software update: Linux kernel 2.4.1-pre12

Unfortunately, contrary to previous messages, no 2.4.1 final release yet, but already a pre-patch! See also this update. As always, a kernel update applies to all platforms, not just i386.

And again a warning: these kinds of patches are in the alpha stage of development and are therefore (sometimes) not stable. Only something for advanced users and other daredevils . And of course the changelog:
