LameFE is a powerful front-end for the Lame audio encoder. The program includes an audio CD ripper, plugin support that also supports WinAmp plugins, connection to FreeDB’s CD database and support for Ogg/Vorbis, Monkeys Audio and Wave formats.

Recently, the development team released version 2.2.3. It fixes some bugs and makes some changes for better compatibility. The changelog looks like this:

• Fixed Multiuser support on Windows Server OS
• Fixed Ogg/Vorbis Tag UTF support
• Fixed Sync problem on large Ogg/Vorbis files
• Added TLEN Tag for MP3
• Fixed “Encoding Dialog shown in taskbar” feature and made LameFE default to display the dialog always in taskbar
• Renamed cddb.cfg to FreeDB.ini for later LameFE 2.3 compability
• Removed Flatlook dialog controls for better compatibility
• Fixed tooltips in Settingsdialog
