Software Update: JkDefragGUI 1.10

Emiel Wiel Draaijer released a new version of JkDefragGUI on Monday. This program is intended as a user interface for Jeroen Kessels’ open source defragmenter JkDefrag. That program is only supplied as a DOS box, commandline or screensaver version. However, JkDefragGUI is more than just a graphical shell; it also adds functionality, including the ability to clean the hard drive before defragmenting and to schedule a defrag for a later date. It also ensures that the latest versions of the various programs are always used.

JkDefrag has been succeeded by MyDefrag some time ago. JkDefragGUI cannot be used in combination with that version, but Emiel Wiel Draaijer is currently working on a version that can. This program will be called MyDefrag PowerGUI and here are already some screenshots to admire. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release of JkDefragGUI:

• Disabled restarting when active language is selected again
• Fixed JkDefragGUI closing before sound has finished
• Fixed startup error in BartPe
• Fixed settings not saved on exit when option selected and Cross in right corner is used
• Improved Icon for Windows Vista and Windows 7
• Improved Uninstaller
• Removed quicklaunch shortcut installation for Windows 7
• Updated Korean language
• Updated Hellenic/Greek language
