Version 1.0.31a has been released from fre:ac. Fre:ac is an open source and cross platform audio converter and CD ripper. Support is available for the most common lossy and lossless formats, including mp3, Ogg Vorbis, aac and flac. The program has been around since 2001, albeit under the name BonkEnc. In addition to this release, version 1.1 is also in development. Unlike the 1.0 series, this version is also available for Linux, FreeBSD and macOS and contains several new extras, such as a dsp framework for normalization and resampling.
