Software Update: Forté Agent 3.2 build 830

Forté is still developing their Forté Agent program, which can download newsgroups without any problems. Version 3.0 build 830 has been available for a few days now, with which you can receive e-mail from multiple pop accounts and send your e-mail via multiple smtp servers. In addition, support has also been added for the use of SSL with which the connection can be encrypted. The included announcement looks like this:

Forte is pleased to announce the release of Agent 3.2 the most powerful version of Agent ever created. Agent 3.2 is feature rich and will make navigating, posting and downloading on Usenet simple, efficient, and fast. New features include:

• Multiple Email Accounts
  Agent 3.2 enables you to collect email from multiple POP accounts and send email via multiple SMTP servers. Agent’s Task Manager will send and receive email messages in parallel with Usenet tasks for maximum throughput.
• Multiple Personas
  Protect your identity on the Internet by creating personas for both email and newsgroup postings. Personas determine how the from address, signature and other information are used when composing messages. Use Agent’s folder properties to customize your persona for each newsgroup.
• SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
  Ensure your privacy with SSL, an encryption protocol for establishing a secure connection between your computer and a server on the Internet. Agent provides SSL for both news (NNTP) and email (POP & SMTP) connections.
