Software Update: FileZilla 3.9.0 RC 1

After two beta releases, the first release candidate of version 3.9.0 of the open source FTP client FileZilla has now appeared. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular due to its low system resource load. However, a common complaint is that passwords are stored unencrypted on the computer. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions. Be careful of other sources as there are modified versions floating around the internet that contain malware. Version 3.9.0 includes a new way of to sort added.   • Binaries are now being built with DEP and ASLR enabled where supported

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • OS X: Fixed creating new tabs
  • OS X: Fixed assertion and crash when renaming files
  • Fixed assertion when sorting by modification time
  • Fixed toolbar button to hide remote directory tree
