A new version of the open source FTP client FileZilla has been released. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular due to its low system resource load. However, a common complaint is that passwords are stored unencrypted on the computer. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions. Be careful of other sources as there are modified versions floating around the internet that contain malware. The following changes have been made since beta 2:

FileZilla Client 3.8.0

New features:

  • OS X: Implemented the reboot, shutdown and suspend queue completion actions

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • Popup dialogs no longer automatically open if other dialogs are already open. This prevents FileZilla from becoming unresponsive on OS X
  • Fix calculation of current transfer speed. In some situations the transfer speed tooltip over the activity indicators showed negative speeds
  • Fix handling of focus item in local directory listings if connecting to a site with a default local directory

FileZilla Client 3.8.0-rc1

New features:

  • MSW: Added suspend as new queue completion action

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • Minor fixes to new updater
