Software update: FileZilla 3.46 RC1

Spread the love

A development version of the open source ftp client FileZilla has been released. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular because of the low load on system resources. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux and macOS. Since version 3.26.0, passwords are also stored encrypted and secured on the computer. Nowadays there is also a Pro version, which provides support for various online storage services.

Be careful with the ‘recommended’ download file as it is bundled with third party software. On this page installation files can be found that do not contain any additional components. A wrong installation is also easy to recognize by the word bundled in the file name. The following enhancements have been made in this release:

New features:

  • Show an error message in the local directory listing if the user lacks permission to show the directory

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • Local filelist status bar is now reset if accessing a local directory fails
  • macOS: Work around an a bug in macOS 10.15 (Catalina) where closing a dialog shown from a timer can result in temporary freezes
  • Refactored speed-limiting code
  • Building and running FileZilla now depends on libfilezilla >= 0.19.1 (https://lib.filezilla-project.org/)
