Software update: ffdshow 2004-10-03 alpha

A new official alpha version of the DirectShow filter has been released on the Sourceforge page of ffdshow. The update is numbered 2004-10-03 alpha and from here to take down. With this program, DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG1, and MPEG2 files can be played in various media players. Ffdshow uses the libav codec from the ffmpeg project for video decompression, mplayer’s postprocessing code for improved visual quality of low bitrate files, and is based on XviD’s original DirectShow filter. This release comes with the following laundry list of bug fixes, new features and updates:
