Software Update: Everest 1.10

AIDA32 is a program that can provide a comprehensive overview of both the hardware and software on your PC. At the end of February, Tamás Miklós, the Hungarian maker of AIDA32, released the very last version; number 3.93. In April, the Canadian company Lavalys familiar that it had retroactively purchased AIDA with effect from 1 January 2004. It was also proud to announce that Tamás Miklós had been appointed “CTO and Executive Vice President of Software Engineering, Research & Development”.

Now Lavalys has released Everest 1.10 and seems to pick up where AIDA32 left off. The interface resembles that of AIDA like two drops of water and the same can be said about the functionality. Another similarity is that there are different variants to download. For home users there is the free Home Edition and for companies there is Everest Professional. About the difference between the two versions, Lavalys says the following:

Everest Professional is for business use, targeting corporate, government and medical markets. Everest Home Edition is a freeware software strictly only for home use. Everest Professional includes unique features for network audit, remote control and SQL database connection. Everest Home Edition includes unique features for benchmarking and overclocking.[break] The changelog for the first version of Everest looks like this: [break] Everest release 1.10
