Software Update: DisplayFusion 3.1.1

Binary Fortress Software has released a new version of DisplayFusion. With the help of this program it is possible to manage a multimonitor setup. For example, a separate wallpaper can be set per screen and programs can be opened on a specific screen. Photos can also be flickr and VladStudio placed or retrieved from those sites and used directly as wallpaper on the desktop. Changes in version 3.1.1

Fixed:

  • TitleBar Buttons now work correctly in the Free version (no more incorrect limits)
  • MediaMonkey application (skinned) is now detected properly on the taskbar
  • “DisplayFusionHookx86.exe – Entry Point Not Found” error is fixed in Windows XP Pro x64
  • Hook DLL changes for better compatibility

Changes in version 3.1.0

Changed:

  • Added a “TitleBar Buttons” feature that (optionally) adds management buttons to each window’s titlebar that can provide the same functionality as the HotKeys
  • Added a “Show images in alphabetical order” option for the local random image changer
  • Now generates a JPEG file for the wallpaper, instead of a BMP file in Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • Tray icon now responds to a single-click to open the Wallpaper window in Windows 7
  • Wallpaper changes now fade from image to image in Windows 7
  • Added a “Taskbar Position” menu item to the right-click Taskbar context menu for manually setting the position
  • Added a “Show taskbar in front of full screen applications when they lose focus” setting for the DisplayFusion taskbars
  • Added a “Taskbar items show icons and text” setting for the DisplayFusion taskbars
  • Added a “Highlighted Taskbar Buttons Blink” setting in the Advanced Settings
  • Added a “Generated Wallpaper Folder Override” setting in the Advanced Settings to control the generated wallpaper’s location
  • Added a new HotKey to toggle the Multi-Monitor Taskbar
  • Doesn’t show messageboxes anymore when the random image changer fails, it just shows a notification icon bubble in the system tray

Fixed:

  • Taskbar items in Windows 7 are now sized correctly when “hide labels” and “small icons” are both enabled
  • Improved full screen app/game detection
  • Setting to unload system hooks when a fullscreen app/game is detected (default is enabled – this will fix all game mouse lag issues)
  • Faster taskbar button & text updating
  • Taskbar is much less CPU/memory intensive when updating buttons
  • Taskbar corruption issues have been reduced/eliminated in most cases
  • MDI child windows now snap correctly in their parent’s frame (ex: Excel 2003/2007)
  • Drag/drop taskbar buttons didn’t redraw correctly in some situations
  • Custom colors in the Wallpaper background color picker are now saved between loads
  • Taskbar wouldn’t stay on top in some situations
  • Taskbar button text was blurry in some situations
  • Monitor IDs were incorrect in some situations
  • Dragging an item to a hidden taskbar now restores it correctly
  • Better fullscreen application detection where the application spans all the monitors, or there are more than 2 fullscreen applications
  • Error with FIPS no longer occurs: “This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.”
