Software Update: Directory Opus 11.19

GPSoftware has released version 11.18 of its Directory Opus file manager. This program is in a way similar to Total Commander, but with more extensive options about exactly what information should be displayed and how. The program nestles deep in Windows and is therefore more intended as a replacement for Windows Explorer.

Directory Opus is versatile and extremely configurable, both in functionality and appearance. That is also the biggest problem, because the program can certainly come across as complex to novice users. Directory Opus runs on Windows XP and above, and is available in a 32-bit and a 64-bit version. The program can be tested for 30 days; after that a license of 89 Australian dollars has to be purchased, which comes down to just under 65 euros. Since version 10.2, there is also a less extended version, for about 35 euros. The changelog for version 11.19 can be found below.

Changes:

• Fixed inverted colors in some CMYK JPGs.
• Fixed button editor duplicating the next line if you double-clicked the end of a line, and then crashing if you clicked OK.
• Duplicating a folder over an existing one would incorrectly display an error (“you can’t copy a file over itself”) for any files that clashed with existing ones in the target folder.
• The Image command no longer requires CONVERT if either the WIDTH or HEIGHT arguments are specified (previously it needed both for CONVERT to not be needed).
• Updated to 7z.dll v16 which includes security fixes.
• Updated to latest UnRar.dll.
• Fixed sorting error with Tags column.
• Fixed ftp not logging into the Folder+ iOS FTP server app.
• Lossless JPEG rotation was broken and always failed (falling back on lossy rotation if the command’s arguments allowed it).
