Software Update: dBpoweramp Music Converter R2022.9.28

Illustrate released release 2022-09-28 of dBpoweramp Music Converter. This audio editing program rips audio CDs and converts music files to and from mp3, mp4, m4a, wma, Ogg Vorbis, aac, Monkey’s Audio, flac, and alac, among others, while preserving tags. Furthermore, the mp3 tags can be customized and the program can be fully integrated into Windows Explorer, making it easy to invoke. The basic version, for ripping CDs and converting files, is free. For additional functionality must be paid. The program is available for Windows and macOS. Since release 17.7, Illustrate has moved to a different version numbering system and made the following changes and improvements:

  • FLAC 1.4.1 – Encoding and decoding of 32-bit PCM is now possible, 1MHz sample rates
  • Monkey’s audio 8.70
  • Wavpack encoder can now accept DoP data
  • Code signed part of the installer
  • Windows 11 – old right click menu items created for when shown through right context menu key
  • If cannot write to file (Music Converter or CD Ripper) then outputs a more verbose reason why (such as drive does not exist)

  • Bug Fix: Ogg Vorbis, Opus tags could contain an “Album Artist” tag which could not be edited or deleted, leading to duplicates
