Software Update: Command & Conquer: Red Alert 13th Anniversary

EA has released the game for free to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Command & Conquer: Red Alert offered† The full version of Red Alert consists of two rar files, each 500MB in size, which can be burned as an unpacked iso image on a blank CD or mounted in Windows. The first version of Red Alert can be run under Windows up to and including Windows XP.

In Red Alert, you can fight on the side of the Soviet Union or the Allies, who are opposing each other to claim the European landscape. Albert Einstein invented a time machine and goes back in time to literally erase Adolf Hitler from history. As a result, Stalin’s plans, who made the Soviet Union even bigger by invading China, are not thwarted by Hitler’s army and he has free rein to invade Europe. Europe forms an allied army to stop Stalin, after which you are given the choice to choose one of the two sides and help the Allies or the Soviet Union to world power.
