Software Update: ClrMamePro 3.40b

Spread the love

Our Eastern neighbor Roman Scherzer comes to delight the MAME community with ClrMamePro. With every new version of MAME, new ROMs have been added and old ones removed. ClrMamePro is intended as a tool to keep the ROM collection up-to-date. For example, it can easily detect missing ROMs, rename incorrectly named ROMs, and delete unnecessary files. The changelog of the last few versions looks like this:

3.40b (12-Jul-2004):

  • misc: changed the checksum window a bit
  • misc: separated xerces dll from main package, repacked files
  • fixed: scanresults shows empty output for chdfiles with no given md5

3.40a (06-Jul-2004):

  • misc: improved detection of same-name-different-hash entries in database

3.40 (Jun 28, 2004):

  • XML support read
  • xerces-c_2_5_0.dll is now needed and included in the current package.
  • MAME, PINMAME and MESS engines use -listxml now.
  • ‘engine.cfg’ has to be replaced with the one in this package.
  • added enginetype OLD_MAME for MAME versions without -listxml.
  • removed some entries from engine.cfg
  • A new engine.cfg will show you prompts for each and any profile which was created/loaded with the old engine.cfg.
  • Little PinMAME (1.32.001) issue: Current PinMAME got a ‘&’ character in one romname, causing xml importing to fail since it has to be coded as ‘&amp’. This should be fixed with the next PinMAME version. If you still want to use ClrMamePro with current PINMAME, you have to change engine.cfg’s PINMAME entry back to “command -listinfo”.
