Software Update: Caliber 3.19

A new version of Caliber has been released. Caliber is an open source e-book management program and is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images, and convert e-books to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. Furthermore, the program can convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format. Books can also be purchased with Caliber at the well-known web stores. The program is under active development and a new version is usually released every other week on Friday. In version 3.19, the following improvements have been made:

New features

• Driver for the new PocketBook 740.
• Allow using relative URLs in comments type metadata. The relative URLs are interpreted relative to the book folder in the caliber library.

• Allow adding the Virtual library button to any toolbar/menu via Preferences->Toolbars & menus.

Bug fixes

• Server: Fix server becoming unresponsive if a client sends invalid SSL data at exactly the right moment.
• Conversion heuristics: Make unwrapping recognize Georgian letters as well. Close tickets: 1753533
• Make de-serialization of stored conversion options safe against maliciously crafted input. Close tickets: 1753870
• E-book viewer: Change the file format used to import/export bookmarks to use JSON. This prevents malicious bookmarks files from causing code execution. Close tickets: 1753870

• PDF Output: When the input document contains multiple anchors with the same value, use the first anchor rather than the last. This follows browser behavior. Close tickets: 1752825
