Software Update: Auto Gordian Knot 2.12 beta

Spread the love

It’s been over a month since we heard from Auto Gordian Knot. Yesterday, however, version 2.12 beta was released and it is unclear what happened to 2.10 and 2.11. AutoGK is a program that can easily convert DVD, MPeg and avi files to an avi file. The software uses DivX or XviD for video compression and ac3, dts, cbr mp3 or vbr mp3 for sound compression. This release is about one and a half MB in size and must be installed as an update over 1.95 stable. This release includes support for mpeg1 files and for the new DivX version 6. The full changelog looks like this:

What’s New on Auto Gordian Knot 2.12 beta:

  • Added support for MPEG1 input sources (including detection of FILM sources)
  • Added support for MPA audio in both input source and output AVI (direct copy or reencode to mp3)
  • DGIndex updated to version 1.4.0 RC6
  • Removed limitation on some special characters in input/output file names
  • Removed setting min quantizer of 1 in XviD to allow undersized files again (in case of maxed out movies)
  • Added support for DivX6 (release build 1571 only)
  • DVD mode does not longer require stream info file, but just IFO file
