Sigma Benelux will release the 14mm f/1.8 Art and the 24-70mm f/2.8 OS Art in July. The wide-angle lens will cost 1799 euros and the zoom will have a suggested retail price of 1599 euros. The lenses are suitable for full-frame cameras.

The lenses are suitable for SLR cameras and Sigma makes them with mounts for Canon EF, Nikon F and Sigma SA. Both the 14 mm 1.8 and the 24-70 mm f/2.8 are available in the Art series, in which Sigma shares its best lenses. The 24-70 mm DG OS HSM Art is equipped with optical image stabilization. Both lenses are compatible with Sigma’s USB dock, which allows buyers to perform firmware updates themselves.

Sigma’s 14 mm f/1.8 is a different lens, because competitors do not offer comparable options. Other brands do have 14mm lenses, but they usually have a maximum aperture of f/2.8. Sigma previously released a 20 mm f/1.4. That lens has a smaller field of view, but is even brighter. The combination of a wide angle of view and large aperture opening is especially popular in astrophotography.

Sigma presented the 14mm and 24-70mm in February, along with the 135mm f/1.8. The latter came out in May for 1599 euros. Sigma also showed a new 100-400mm f/5-6.3 lens in February, but no new details have been disclosed.
