Samsung update adds Apple TV and Airplay 2 on 2019 TVs and some 2018 TVs

Samsung says it will release an update for all 2019 smart TVs and select 2018 TV models starting Monday. The software update will add the new Apple TV app and Airplay 2.

The South Korean manufacturer says it is the first TV manufacturer to offer the Apple TV app on its smart TVs. The update will be available for all smart TVs released this year, but also for a number of models from 2018. The Apple TV app is separate from Apple hardware and offers users a catalog of movies, TV shows, sports broadcasts, and news programs.
