Samsung has started rolling out the Android 5.0 update to the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Poland. It would be the first time that the South Korean group has brought a major update of Android to one of its devices so quickly.

Although it concerns a rollout in Poland, SamMobile expects Samsung to quickly bring the firmware to the Galaxy S5 in more European countries. With this, Samsung would have Android Lollipop ready for the device within a month of release: Google released version 5 of its mobile operating system on November 4 to aosp.

Thanks to the switch to Google’s Material Design design, Samsung has given all its own apps a makeover with, among other things, a new font and status bar, while the color white is now more present, where it was previously blue.

Furthermore, in addition to the improvements and extensions that Lollipop itself brings, there is a new clip tool and a lock screen with, among other things, notifications, tap & go, Smart Lock, MirrorLink. Owners of the Galaxy S5 can get the update via Samsung Kies and Samsung’s firmware over the air if it’s available.
