Samsung has announced ten multifunction laser printers for the business market that run on Android at the IFA trade fair in Berlin. The laser printers each have a 10.1″ touchscreen and run on top of Android Samsung’s Smart UX Center interface.

According to Samsung, the ten multifunctionals in the Smart MultiExpress series, including a number of color laser printers and A3 printers, make it possible to print pages without a PC, for example from a tablet or smartphone. The Samsung Cloud Print mobile app is required for this.

Samsung reports that the proprietary Smart UX Center gui has been placed on top of the Android operating system of the printers. Smart UX is also being applied to recent smartphones and tablets from the Korean electronics group. The integrated touchscreens allow users to not only browse but also preview printouts before proceeding to a print job. The printers are also equipped with nfc, so that pairing with a mobile device should be simplified.

The Smart MultiExpress printers are equipped with dual-core processors with a clock speed of 1GHz, which means that the multifunctionals are able to process print jobs from multiple users simultaneously, according to Samsung. Also, the average life of the required toners would have been improved.
