Samsung would consider no longer making a Galaxy S+ device and a Note device, but to merge the product lines. Since the arrival of the Galaxy S8+, the difference in screen size with the Note variants has become very small.

It is not clear how Samsung plans to merge the two lines. The manufacturer could choose not to make Note devices anymore and only release the Galaxy S and S + variant in the high-end segment, or to focus on the Note variant as the only large device.

According to Korean website The Bell, which bases its information on industry sources, Samsung is considering merging the different models to cut costs. The company has been thinking about merging the various product lines since the beginning of last year and is said to have already held talks with partners and suppliers about this.

Since the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ in 2017, the difference in screen size between the plus model in the S series and the Note model has virtually disappeared. The S8+ got a 6.2″ screen and the Note 8 has a 6.3″ screen. The main difference is the presence of the pin in the Note series.

In any case, Samsung will announce a new Note model this year. The Galaxy Note 9 will be presented on August 9 and is rumored to have a 6.3 “screen again. This time the stylus contains Bluetooth and could be used to pause music or take a photo with the push of a button, for example.

Samsung also seems to at least continue to increase the screens of the Galaxy S+ models. According to rumors, the Galaxy S10 + will get a 6.44 “screen next year. It is not yet clear whether there will also be a Note 10 and whether it will have a larger screen.
