Apple has reportedly halted production of the iPhone 12 mini ahead of schedule. According to research firm TrendForce, the sales figures of the smallest iPhone 12 are so disappointing that the focus is expected to be on the remaining iPhone 12 variants.

Apple iPhone 12 Mini

According to TrendForce The iPhone 12 mini received end-of-life status sometime in the second quarter of this year ahead of schedule, although it is not known how long the smartphone should have been in production. The end-of-life status would mean that Apple has stopped production of the device. At the time of writing, the iPhone 12 mini is still available available from the official Apple website. Apple itself has not yet responded to the report from the research firm.

The Apple iPhone 12 mini came out in October of 2020 for more than 800 euros, making it the cheapest and smallest in the 12 series. The entire iPhone 12 series generated record sales for Apple, although it is not known how large the share of the mini in the total smartphone sales was. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently reported that no mini variant of the iPhone 14 will be released next year. It is not clear whether an iPhone 13 mini is planned for this year.
