Rockstar has released a video featuring gameplay footage from its upcoming game Red Dead Redemption 2. Among other things, the studio shows some examples of the protagonist’s interaction with his environment.

After several cinematic trailers of the western game previously appeared, Rockstar has now published the first in a series of gameplay videos. In it, Rockstar shows that Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place in a large, detailed open world.

Characters navigate narrow trails in the mountains, through dense forests, swamps and deserts. They can visit small farming villages or visit lively cities. You play the game as Arthur Morgan, leader of a gang who is being hunted and forced to set up camp elsewhere each time. The game is set in the period of American history when the time of the outlaws ended and that of the modern world began.

The longer you play the game, the more you get to know the members of the Van der Linde gang and must gain their trust. Choices you make in conversations make friends or enemies in the game. Rockstar shows, among other things, how witnesses of events can be violently pressured to keep their mouths shut.

Players also bond with their horse as the game progresses so that it listens more closely and is more responsive to its rider. As a player, you have to hunt for food, for yourself and the gang, and earn money with pelts obtained through hunting. This can be used to buy weapons, for example.
