Renders may show Sony Xperia XZ4 Compact

Renders of what may become the Sony Xperia XZ4 Compact smartphone have surfaced. The renders show a small smartphone with a Power button on the side that presumably also serves as a fingerprint scanner.

The current Compact phone, the XZ2 Compact, has the fingerprint scanner on the back, but it is not visible in the renders of CompareRaja and OnLeaks. The phone is said to be around 134.0×66.5×9.3mm in size with an 18:9 display of around 5″, like the current XZ2 Compact.

The renders show a single camera on the front and on the back, a setup that will probably be rare on high-end smartphones in 2019. The renders of the larger XZ4 show three cameras.

The Indian site mentions a 3.5mm jack on the top of the housing. The current XZ2 Compact does not have that connection, but the renders of the XZ4 did show it. There are also two speakers on the front of the device.

Sony will probably show its next smartphones in the winter during the Mobile World Congress telecom fair. It will take place in Barcelona at the end of February. Sony has been releasing one Compact smartphone per year for years. It is the first time that renders of next year’s model have appeared.
